How does Carci Reagent® work?
The test ampoule contains a reagent that reacts with tyrosine metabolites in the urine. This causes the colour of the test mixture to change, which is then compared with the enclosed colour chart.
Tyrosine metabolites in particular can be elevated in certain conditions – including when there is increased cell activity in the body, for example in connection with a tumour disease. The test allows an orientational assessment of whether there is an abnormality that should prompt a medical evaluation.
Carci Reagent® is a fast, non-invasive and discreet aid for use at home. When carried out correctly, the result is available within a few minutes.
The test is intended for orientational self-monitoring and does not replace medical diagnosis. The result should always be assessed in the context of your overall state of health.
Who is the test suitable for?
The Carci Reagent® test can be useful for adults and seniors who –
- want to monitor long-term changes in the body,
- wish to supplement their usual preventive care with home self-monitoring,
- want to obtain an early signal for a possible consultation with a doctor.
It is not intended for acute diagnostics, not for children without medical supervision, and not as a substitute for laboratory tests.
What the test can and cannot do

The test can –
- indicate elevated concentrations of tyrosine metabolites in the urine,
- draw attention to possible metabolic abnormalities,
- provide a basis for deciding to seek professional help.
The test cannot –
- make a diagnosis or identify a specific disease,
- replace laboratory analyses or a medical examination.
The result may be influenced by, among other things, the type of urine sample, diet, fluid intake, medication or incorrect performance of the test.
Safe use and storage
- Store in a dry place at room temperature.
- Do not use after the expiry date.
- Do not use the test if the packaging is damaged.
- Handle the ampoule carefully, as it contains acid.
What to do after evaluating the result
Negative result – If you have no symptoms, continue with your usual preventive care. If you have ongoing concerns, we recommend consulting a doctor.
Positive result – We recommend arranging an appointment with a doctor and letting them know that you have carried out a positive Carci Reagent® home test.
Unclear result or one read too late – The result cannot be considered valid. Repeat the test according to the instructions or speak with a professional.
